A Year of Drawing on Playgrounds

The Education Foundation recently received funding to have more Art in elementary schools, they heard about me through word of mouth (it's a great story I'll tell sometime). With added funding from the Dean and Margaret Lesher Foundation we are a go to chalk draw at all 31 elementary schools, which is 15,000 kids. We have drawn on 10 playgrounds so far. Holbrook Language Academy Jets

Holbrook Language Academy Elementary School - Concord CA We just visited Holbrook Elementary School recently and had so much fun. Principal Marga Marshall was great, she even ordered out for pizza at lunch.  Drawing on Earth has been invited to chalk draw on 30 elementary school playgrounds for this school year. Another School Year Begins

In our last post we announced a new Guinness World Record Attempt for the World's Largest Illustrated Story. It would of been created on 30 elementary school playgrounds with over 15,000 kids over this school year. Well GWR declined are attempt. New Guinness World Record Attempt

Ten years ago we set a Guinness World Record for the Largest Chalk Drawing (Pavement Art). We covered 90,000 sq. ft (8,360 sq. meters) with chalk, almost 2 football fields. We had 6,000 people help (over 4,000 elementary school kids from Alameda CA), it took us 2 weeks, and we got a satellite to photograph the artwork. And now we have already begun a new Guinness World Record for the World's Largest Illustrated Story. It will be created on 33 elementary school playgrounds in the Mt. Diablo Unified School District in collaboration with the MDUSD Education Foundation, over the next year, involving 15,000 elementary school kids, and approx. 2,000 community members. Things Are Happening

Wow... we haven't posted in awhile, too many good things have been happening and it's now time to update the wonderful world of creative expression with kids and the community. Drawing on Earth has visited 5 elementary school in the last 2 month - that's a record. Here is an image from each school. Next blog will say more. Fundraiser – End of the 2017

Celebrating Ten Years of Drawing on Earth! This is our End of the Year fundraiser for DRAWING on EARTH. We are a 501c3 nonprofit that "passionately connects Art and Creativity to Youth and Communities around the World." We have drawn with approx. 18,000 kids and adults, and on 3 continents so far. Our first project in 2007 set a Guinness World Record for the Largest Chalk Drawing (pavement art). This year we had drawing gigs at local Bay Area schools, a few corporate projects, and drew 3 times at the Oakland Zoo.
