600 Rockets

"Houston, We Don't Have a Problem" Last week we drew for 2 days at Rio Visa Elementary, Bay Point, California USA. Just another great experience being creative with school kids on the playgound. The principle Susan Valdez heard about us when we were drawing 600 elephants in the spring at Vahalla Elementary, another Mount Diablo Unified School District school. She's a lovely energetic committed to the Arts and Creativity wise one who knows what's best for her school and students. 600 is basically how many kids the school has. That takes 2 draw with everyone. We charge a school $1,200 for 2 days which include assembly and supplies. Chalk costs approx. $250 for that many kids. There are [...]

So Much Has Been Happening

The Creative Spirit Alive and Well So much has been happening that we haven't had the time until now to update our blog. We have been chalk drawing and street painting at the Oakland Museum, Oakland Zoo, Billboard and 1800 Tequila, Rhythmix, Italian Street Painting Marin, helped www.createpeaceproject.org with their big mural, and in college and elementary schools in the San Francisco Bay Area. We'll show some of our work here and later feature the cooler projects in detail. Creatively Yours, ~Mark Lewis Wagner Founder of Drawing on Earth (501c3)

More Kid’s Chalk Art

Last week we were drawing at two different sites. Fun, great kids, great parent and teacher support.  There was one sweet little boy, all excited he said. "you forgot something, you forgot to draw the wings." Do eye you have, you draw it for me. And he just jumped right in and drew it... way too small. I helped him with it, he said mistake, I said "don't believe in them." We want to let out kids make lots of mistakes, its how they learn best. In art school it was said to "notice your mistakes for that is what makes you unique." And it's always amazing to come across a teacher who says I stopped drawing a [...]

Oakland Museum of CA

Last week we were invited to chalk draw at the Oakland Museum of California (OMCA). The cleint was the Alameda County Arts Commission and the Alameda County Office of Education. They was a conference called "Creative Impact," which celebrated the start of the fifth annual San Francisco Bay Area National Arts in Education Week. It was a short few hours but super fun to rip on a large wall. #ArtIsEducationBecause ~MLW Founder of Drawing on Earth We passionately connect Art and Creativity to Youth and Communities Around the World   https://youtu.be/ayZsQCo8RyA
